On Saturday, 22 March 2025, Westland Mineral Sands was proud to attend the official opening of the Kawatiri Coastal Trail, a significant new addition to the West Coast’s tourism and outdoor recreation offerings.
That’s why we were excited to connect with local residents at our recent The 40km trail, linking Westport and Charleston, offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the region’s stunning coastal beauty, native bush, wetlands, and rich cultural history.
As one of the key sponsors, Westland Mineral Sands has committed $150,000 to help bring the trail to life.
We were thrilled to be part of the opening celebration at the Rotten Row entrance in Charleston, where the community gathered to enjoy a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a public blessing, and local festivities, including the Charleston Markets and live music.
The Kawatiri Coastal Trail is more than just a walking and cycling path—it’s a testament to the power of collaboration and shared vision.
