Westland Mineral Sands (WMS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Vincent Tremaine AM to its Board of Directors, further strengthening the company’s governance and strategic leadership as it advances toward becoming a globally recognised, sustainable mining business.
“Vincent brings over 30 years of executive and board-level experience across the infrastructure, logistics, transport, and port sectors. He served as CEO of Flinders Ports Holdings for 16 years and has held numerous leadership positions with prominent organisations in Australia and New Zealand,” says WMS Independent Chair Debbie Birch.
“His governance expertise and strategic insight, developed through roles across both commercial enterprises and government entities, will significantly enhance WMS’s capabilities in compliance, risk management, and operational efficiency.
Vincent has been a director of Napier Port since 2019 and previously chaired Southern Launch Space and Ports Australia, where he contributed to shaping national strategies in logistics and sustainability.
“Vincent’s deep knowledge of port and transport operations will be particularly valuable as we progress the development of our critical logistics infrastructure to support export growth and expand market access.
“His strong track record in enterprise risk management, financial oversight, and industrial relations will provide vital support as WMS continues to scale operations with a strong focus on responsible and sustainable practices,” says Birch.
This appointment follows the recent addition of Debbie Birch as Independent Chair and reflects WMS’s strategic focus on building a board with diverse, world-class expertise in mining, logistics, governance, and sustainability.
Mr Tremaine takes his place on the WMS board effective immediately.
